Welcome!

The Humanode Testnet 3 "Ramiel" is here and open for public.

What now?

  1. Download the launcher.

  2. Run the launcher, create a workspace, install Testnet 3 and join the network!

  3. Enroll, set keys, authenticate and become a validator!!

Downloading the launcher

Get the latest launcher version from the new download location:

Run the launcher

You should now be able to run the launcher.

During the workspace creation process, it will prompt you on what chain to install. Choose Testnet 3!

Hardware requirements

  • 2 CPU Cores

  • 4 GB RAM

  • 40 GB disk space

  • 100 Mbps internet connection

  • Public IP address or ports forwarded in NAT (and ngrok-like tunnel)

Become a validator

Preparing your validator key

Before you can proceed, you have to generate a mnemonic and insert it into the node and into the wallet of your choosing.

If you already have a menmonic from the Testnet 2 you can just use it again.

Use the launcher to generate and insert the mnemonic into the node.

Do not lose the mnemonic! It can't be recovered.

Set up the wallet

You can use another substrate-compatible wallet if you know what you are doing.

Install the polkadot.js extension

You can get the polkadot.js browser extension from here:

Import the key

Import your mnemonic as a key into the polkadot.js extension.

First, open the extension.

Press on "Import accounts from pre-existing keys":

Follow the dialog to import the key.

In the end, you should see the address that corresponds to your validator key. Use this address when getting the tokens from the faucet.

Getting into the validators list

It is not enough to just enroll and authenticate to become a validator at Testnet 3!

In the Testnet 3, you need to go through the following steps to become a validator:

  1. Enroll with the network - do this from your phone after scanning the QR code;

  2. Get the tokens - use the telegram bot at https://t.me/HumanodeTestnet3FaucetBot;

  3. Rotate and set the node keys - again, this is done from the phone;

  4. Authenticate - from the phone again.

After all these steps, you should be able to see yourself in the list of validators.

Telemetry does not show your validator status, do not use it to check if you are a validator or not!

All done!

Check the explorer to see if you managed to complete all the steps and have become a validator.

Use the explorer:

There, navigate to Developer -> Chain state -> session -> validators(). Press + on the right.

If your address is on the list - you are a validator!

Now you have become a validator!

Don't see yourself on the list? Wait for two sessions to pass (one session in 10 minutes) and check again.
